Wardrobe Christmas list
14th December 2011
So it’s coming up to Christmas again, meaning time for a new wardrobe! There’s no doubt it’s getting colder, so be sure to ask for the best winter trends this year so you can stay warm for longer and still look amazing – without breaking the bank!
Chinos – there’s no denying that chinos are huge this year. You can never go wrong with the classic beige, but be bold to go for other colours – brown and burgundy are always good at this time of year, as well as grey - just make sure to wear bolder colours on top if you do go for this! Avoid skinny or baggy designs at all costs – these will leave you feeling and looking too cold. You can get chinos almost anywhere, but Dorothy Perkins,
Christmas Scandinavian Jumpers – be sure to get yourself one of these! The knitted patterned designs from and are huge this year in all the high street stores, and go really well with chinos and block coloured scarves and gloves. Be careful not to get the thin acrylic designs - ‘ahem, Primark!’ – but definitely go for at least 25% wool. It costs a little more, but will definitely keep you warm for a whole lot longer.
Boots – although Toms and Brogues are great footwear that are really in right now, they can sometimes leave your feet a little cold! Make sure to get some warm footwear – girls, go for boots with faux fur inside, guys – try Brogues boots – they look great and aren’t as cold as some makes. Avoid Uggs, if not for the animal fur and price, for the total obviousness of it!
Colours – Definitely go for tan, chestnuts, and dark greens. Maroon, olive and navy works too. Just think darker warmer colours that work. Avoid jade, yellow, and pink - these are way too summery and the bright shades definitely wouldn’t work on a cold winter’s day. For night’s out, go for burgundy or purple – these have the great quality of looking colourful whilst keeping the warm wintery touch.
