Winter Wardrobe Must Haves
2nd December 2010
Now that we are well into autumn you should have stocked up on all your winter warmers ready for the upcoming cold weather and as fashionistas know you can look just as chic as you do any other season and still keep wrapped up.
But, if you need some help I have compiled a list of all the trends that should be in your wardrobe right now that will keep you warm but are bang on trend.
Faux Fur - Grab yourself a fur coat, wear leopard print if you're more daring but if not just stick with fur lined boots, a fur bag or a gilet.
Velvet - Velvet is really fashionable right now though us girls know that it isn’t the most flattering fabric to wear. Therefore perhaps go for velvet dresses that are less clingy or some velvet leggings (available for £7 in Primark!)
Shearling jackets - Think Tom Cruise in Top Gun and you’ve got it!
Lace - Ok so this isn’t the warmest fabric, to say the least, but we can’t be expected to be practical all the time!
Metallic - Metallic seems to come back every year around Christmas time because it is perfect for Christmas parties and going out but who says it’s only for night time: try wearing it in the day as well.
Leather- the good thing about leather is that it is incredibly warm, so there is no excuse for not wearing it, but don’t opt for a leather jacket, try a skirt or some trousers to keep it up to date.
Camel- Camel is still the hottest colour of the season and it’s a great colour for trench coats and jumpers. Just beware if you’re fair skinned choose a darker shade to prevent looking washed out.
Military- Military style coats are back in fashion again as well as military style lace up boots. To glam up the look get some boots with a high heel and wear them on a night.
