Bucking the trend

9th December 2008

The College’s Young Enterprise company, Aquilae, has bucked the economic downturn by turning out for a number of local trade fairs.
Aquilae was present at Worcester Trade Fair on November 29th and will also be attending Hereford Trade Fair in the Maylord Shopping Centre and Aylestone Christmas Fayre at Aylestone School on December 13th and 16th respectively.

The team has grown from strength to strength with almost all members of the team being responsible for their own transport to and from Worcester Trade Fair. Whilst opposition schools and colleges have been twiddling their thumbs, Aquilae has been eagerly churning out necklace after necklace while in the background, the robotic hum of printers churned out the company’s festive and occasional cards.

Perhaps the greatest attribute the company has been the ability to be responsible and mature enough to make considered decisions in the absence of their MD, Shae Courtney, who has been busy meeting and building bridges with local secondary schools. A meeting with Amie Barnett, Business and Enterprise Coordinator at Aylestone School, was most productive and the team look forward to assisting future Young Enterprise teams from the School.
