Editorial: Spring 2008

While a printed newspaper is satisfying to consume, limited space is always a problem. This year, we have a large Student Voice team and lots of excellent and inspiring articles are being submitted. Having the Voice online means that we can include many more articles than a printed version would allow.
In the News section, you’ll be kept up to date with the busy, cosmopolitan place that is Hereford (joke).
In Reviews, you can read reports by the enthusiastic members of our team who are forced to attend events, concerts and performances in the name of journalism.
Opinion, we suspect, may become the largest section, as all of us seem to feel very strongly about certain issues and want to let off a bit of steam in a controlled environment.
We Love, We Hate is a list for each season; disagreements within the team may mean that you find, say, snow on both sections – but who cares?
A Day in the Life is a chance to meet people from around college and the local area who don’t mind being asked what they drive, eat, and do in their spare time, among other things.
Arts and Culture will explore both local and national cultural issues, including interviews, reviews and arts-related opinion.
In Imagine, we hope to collect the poems, stories and random hallucinations of as many people as possible; it may prove once and for all how barking we really are as a college and as a nation.
Finally, no newspaper would be complete without an Other Stuff section, where a few whimsical ramblings that don’t fit in anywhere else will be posted for your amusement and enjoyment.
We hope you enjoy reading at least some of these articles. Of course, if you feel that you can do it as well or better, feel free to submit almost anything you like.
Happy spring!
